| Five Year Strategic Plan | |
| Introduction | |
| The Finance Advisory committee is very pleased to present this report and its recommendations, which we believe, will, if implemented, underpin the future of our Gaelic football club. Tarbert GAA club has been in existence since 1897 and has achieved many great sporting honours, produced a host of great players that have gone on to represent the parish at both county and divisional levels, involved tens of thousands of people - players, patrons, supporters and sponsors alike - in its many activities, provided countless hours of enjoyment, (with no little heartache thrown in for good measure at times!) and some great great memories over the past century. Perhaps most of all it has played and continues to play a pivotal role in uniting a local community behind a banner of " Pride in the Parish". | |
| Tarbert is of course not unique as this pride is replicated in every parish throughout Ireland and in many Irish communities abroad. We would like to pay tribute to all the other local clubs and organisations and in particular those local GAA clubs in North Kerry and beyond whose friendly rivalry and fierce competition has helped in no small way to bring the Club to where it is at today. | |
| A very special word of heartfelt gratitude to those tireless, committed and generous people - a very special group of visionary people-who passed this road before us and have given a lifetime of dedicated service to the Club. | |
| Its standing in the local community and within the wider public is very much a testament to the magnificent efforts of all who in the past gave freely of their time and resources. It is encouraging to find that their shoes are more than filled by their counterparts of today. | |
| This advisory committee now brings forward a comprehensive list of recommendations for consideration and implementation. It is our collective view that the continuation of the policy of incremental improvements is both financial viable and offers the best opportunity of bringing the Club to its next stage in its evolution. Most importantly for the generations of Tarbert people to come it provides this generation with the opportunity to pass on a truly great legacy in which we can all justifiably take a great deal of pride. | |
| We would also like to acknowledge the inputs, suggestions and words of encouragement that we have received for many sources during the course of the past few months. We hope that in this report we have in some way captured these thoughts and suggestions in both content and deed and it is important to remember that our offering is only the initial start of this next phase of our club's development. We have no doubt there will be many changes between cup and lip! | |
