Tarbert Notes - Week Ending 4th July

COMMUNITY GAMES: Congratulations and well done to all our athletes who competed so well in the county Community Games finals held in very bad weather conditions for running last weekend in Tralee. Pride of place goes to our medal winners who ran and jumped and walked superbly. Gold medal winners were Gareth O’Connell in the U14 long jump and Sorcha Prendiville in the U13 walk, Darragh McDonnell won bronze in the U8 80m, Denis Gallagher earned a certificate by coming fourth in the U10 100m. Certificates also went to the U14 boys relay team comprising of Gareth O’Connell, Sean Holly, Kevin Enright, Niall Kelleher and sub Sean Considine. Tarbert had a number of other athletes who made it to the finals and gave it their best and so deserve a mention. They are Róisin Considine in the U8 80m, Éadaoin Wall in the U10 hurdles, Julie Prendiville in the U12 60m, Sinead Prendiville in the U14 800m, David Culhane in the U12 100m. The mixed U10 relay comprising of Cormac Wall, Róisin Considine, Evelyn Stack and Denis Gallagher and the girls U14 relay comprising of Sínead Prendiville, Sorcha Prendiville, Grace Flynn and Edel O’Connor. Unfortunately a number of Tarbert athletes did not turn up in Tralee and this was disappointing for their team mates in the relay races.
