Tarbert Notes - Week Ending 25th September

ANOTHER: successful year for the towns entry in the Tidy Towns competition, culminated in a five point improvement in the marks from 227 to 232 pts out of possible 300. Pride of place goes to the built environment and to the residential areas. Both have achieved over 80% success and it is a credit to the quality of care the people give to their houses and gardens. The low pts are roads, streets and back areas at 67.5 %, and litter control at 70. The work of a core group of dedicated citizens and the continued good work of the Fas employees keep the performance moving upwards. There is a big financial outlay on grass maintenance and weed control.
