SHANNON
RANGERS: At Shannon Park on Sunday, before a
good attendance, Shannon Rangers lost by two points to St Kierans in
the Co senior FC. Despite missing a number of key players, including
Kerry minors, this was a game Rangers could have won, it was too
many mistakes with stray passes that was their downfall. Their
best periods of the game were the opening ten minutes, and the final
ten minutes, when they came to life after the conversion of the
penalty. Tarbert players on the team were D Enright,
J Wrenn, S Deenihan, P O’Connell, D Kiely who played another
fine game, and sub Shane Langan who came on in the last quarter,
and was only just in the game when he was brought down in
the big square for the penalty. Sean McGinley was out of the
game through injury.
