NK C’SHIP: The clash between Duagh and Listowel Emmets in the North Kerry senior championship semi–final in Shannon Park, Tarbert, on Sunday can only be described as one of the best games of football seen in the championship for years. In perfect conditions at the excellent Tarbert pitch this was a pulsating
contest from the throw–in to the final whistle. It was a game that will live long in the memory of the huge and enthusiastic crowd for the sheer commitment, passion and fitness displayed by both teams over the hour. Duagh emerged victorious by a score of 2–6 to 0–9. With one game still to go the rejoicing by the Duagh supporters after the game was a joy to experience. Many in the attendance at the game in Tarbert on Sunday were loud in praise of the newly–built stand in Shannon Park and the well laid out steps that gave much more comfort to supporters watching the game.

ESTUARY ATHLETIC CLUB: Estuary AC held its first victory night in the Lanterns Hotel last Thursday night. The night proved a great success and would not have been possible without kind sponsors, Acorn Life and Patrick
Kelly Financial Advisor. The night reflected on a wonderful year in track and field athletics most notably the girls U–9 relay team consisting of Eadaoin Wall (Tarbert), Darragh McDonnell (Tarbert), Stephanie Collins (Lenamore), Tara Finnucane (Moyvane/Knockanure) and Róisín Considine (Tarbert) who won gold medals in the All–Irelands. John McGinley kindly sponsored new club tracksuits for the girls and Patrick Kelly presented each of them with a silver cup. Also provided with new club tracksuits were sister and brother, Michelle and Stephen Foley (Lenamore) who both received bronze All–Ireland relay medals. David Culhane (Ballylongford) was presented with a gift token for receiving a gold All–Ireland relay medal. All athletes had a very enjoyable night and we look forward to the coming year where we hope to build on this success.
